Budget Payment Program

How does the program work?
The budget program is comprised of 11 equal monthly payments (subject to periodic review and change) based on an estimate of your annual fuel consumption. The 12th month is the reconciliation month with any outstanding balance due in full. If your account shows a credit balance, no payment is due. The plan does NOT:

• Rollover outstanding balances into the next budget year
• Lock the price charged for the fuel during the term of the plan
  

What products and services can be included in the Budget Payment Program?
Heating oil and propane used for heating purposes may pay on the plan. Any service or repair charges will be billed separately from your budgeted montly amount.

Can I set up my budget payment to be billed automatically to my credit card?
Absolutely! Simply e-mail us or call our customer service department at 540-338-6457. We will then mail you an authorization agreement or you may download the form from our website: www.valleyenergy.org.

If my budget payment is automatically billed, will my non-budget charges also be deducted?
Yes. When you sign up for our auto payment program, we will automatically process all charges on your account. Your monthly statement will always reflect the total balance being deducted.

Will my monthly payment amount change during the year?
We will periodically review your account throughout the year to ensure that you don't end up with a large deficit or overpayment. If your monthly payment amount needs to be adjusted, we will notify you the month before the change.

Why did my monthly payment change from last year?
There are several factors that can affect your budget payment. Some of the factors include a change in consumption habits, increases in fuel prices and if there were credits rolled into the payment from the preceding plan year.

Is a payment still due if there is a credit on my account?
Yes. The bedget payment plan divides your annual usage over 11 months. Throughout the year, your balance will fluctuate depending upon when charges are applied to your account.

When can I enroll?
Enrollment in the plan is quarterly: July, October, January and April. Customers requesting the budget plan must first complete a credit application. Contact our customer service department or visit our website to download the credit application: www.valleyenergy.org.

Finally, NEW customers must start the program with a full tank of prepaid fuel.
